Keeping people healthy – preventing the spread of pathogens

Ventilation and air conditioning units have to be in a hygienically perfect condition. This is the responsibility of the operating company. The legal enforceability of VDI 6022 derives from §3 and §4 of the German Occupational Safety Act, which obligates the employer to take all measures necessary to protect the health of its employees, and to ensure that hygiene standards are state-of-the-art.

VDI 6022 guidelines apply to all ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment supplying air to rooms or areas of rooms in which, according to their intended purpose, people are present more than 30 days a year or regularly for longer than two hours per day. Voith performs the hygiene inspection in accordance with VDI 6022.
